Etiquette at NOOD.
We’re relaxed about most things and care deeply about a few. Here’s everything you need to show up, settle in and make something good.

Our studios work because people look out for each other.
These guidelines aren’t rules. They’re the things that make a room full of strangers feel like a community. Read on and you’ll have everything you need.
Seven things worth knowing.
Arriving
Please arrive 5–10 minutes before your session starts. Doors open 15 minutes prior.
Arrive a few minutes early so you can settle in, find your space and get comfortable before the session begins.
Let us know in advance if you’re running late, drop an email or call the studio and we’ll do our best to hold your spot.
Check your booking confirmation for the correct studio address. We have several locations and they’re easy to mix up.
Arrive more than 15 minutes late without notice. To protect the experience for others, latecomers may not be admitted once a session has started.
In the studio
Our studios are shared creative spaces. A little consideration goes a long way.
Speak softly during active drawing time. Quiet conversation is fine. Loud noise disrupts concentration.
Treat all equipment, tools and furniture with care. Report any damage to your facilitator. We don’t charge for accidents.
Be mindful of scent. Strong perfume or cologne can be distracting in a small studio space.
Bring food into the studio unless it’s been confirmed with your facilitator. Drinks in sealed containers are fine.
Life drawing
Our life drawing sessions feature an unclothed model. This is a professional studio context. Respect is non-negotiable.
Treat the model with the same respect you’d extend to any professional. They are providing a skilled service.
Keep your gaze observational and your conversation appropriate. Focus on your work.
Attempt to photograph or film the model under any circumstances. No exceptions.
Make comments, positive or otherwise, about the model’s body. Keep feedback directed to your facilitator.
Approach or touch the model at any time. If you have a question about a pose, speak to your facilitator.
Anyone who makes the model or another participant uncomfortable will be asked to leave without a refund. This is one thing we take very seriously.
Photography & phones
We love seeing your work shared online, with a few important caveats.
Photograph your own work and share it. Tag us @nood.art.space if you like.
Keep your phone on silent during sessions. If you need to take a call, step outside.
Photograph other participants or their work without asking first.
Photograph the model in life drawing sessions. This is strictly prohibited regardless of context.
Materials & mess
Making things is inherently messy. We expect mess. We just ask that you keep it contained.
Wear clothes you don’t mind getting charcoal or paint on. Aprons are provided but don’t cover everything.
Clean up your station at the end of the session. Your facilitator will guide you through what’s needed.
Return shared tools and equipment to where you found them, cleaned if applicable.
Wash clay or ceramic materials down the sink. It blocks drains. Use the designated disposal bins.
Accessibility
We want our sessions to be accessible to everyone. Let us know what you need.
Contact us before your session if you have any accessibility requirements: physical, sensory or otherwise. We’ll do everything we can.
Let your facilitator know at the start if there’s anything that would help you participate more comfortably.
Check our locations page for accessibility information. All our venues have accessible entry.
Cancellations
Life happens. We’ve tried to make our policy as fair as possible for everyone.
Full refund to your original payment method, processed within 3–5 business days.
Credit applied to your account, valid for 12 months and transferable to any session or location.
No refund or credit, except in the case of illness or emergency. Contact us and we’ll use our discretion.
To cancel, email [email protected] or use your booking confirmation link. We can’t process cancellations by phone.
What we stand behind.
These aren’t policies. They’re the values that shaped how we set up our studios and trained our facilitators in the first place.
Curiosity is the only requirement.
We don’t care if you’ve never picked up a pencil or a piece of clay. Skill level is irrelevant.
Everyone in the room is safe.
Participants, facilitators, models and support staff all deserve to feel safe and respected.
Welcoming on purpose.
We actively work to make our sessions welcoming for people of all backgrounds, bodies, abilities and experience levels.
Still have questions?
A few things people ask us before their first session.
Accidents happen. Please tell your facilitator straight away. We won’t charge you for genuine accidents, but we do ask for honesty.
Yes. Sealed cups or bottles are welcome. Please be careful around artwork and materials. Food is generally not permitted unless your session includes it.
Please speak to your facilitator immediately and privately. You can also leave and contact us afterwards. We take all feedback seriously and will follow up.
Our regular sessions are for adults 18 and over, and life drawing is strictly 18+. We run occasional family sessions. Check the events page.
Yes for drawing and painting. Pottery pieces need to be fired first. We’ll email you when they’re ready, usually within three weeks.
Absolutely. Many experienced participants prefer their own supplies. Just let your facilitator know at the start.
Ask us anything.
If anything here isn’t clear, or you have access needs or questions before booking, email us. We read every message.
